I can’t believe that the Easter holiday has gone away…. still wanna enjoy my holiday and not go to work tomorrow.

Installed Vista 64bit and Ubuntu 8.10 64 bit in these days,
64bit in order to use up to 4GB ram, yet, install vista frist for boot loader concern,
then install Ubuntu to create a more reliable boot loader,
Next move should be config it properly and install VMWare, and point it to physical disk so it can switch back to WinXP when i need to play games 🙂

I became a winner of Thu poker night and got $150 !
I never think this social (gambling?) activities bring me some extra pretty cash. ~~
But then they all urge me to buy a XBox 360,
theny all have one and said I should get it too. what kind of peer presure it is………
~$400 for pro version and not include live gold membership and headset….
This should be out of my monthy budget even win 150 😛
anyway, It maybe brought some days ………

Federal Government to build national broadband network

THE Federal Government has announced the “largest infrastructure decision in Australia’s history” after deciding not to award the national broadband network contract to a company.

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd said the Government would lead the development of a national fibre-to-the-home broadband network up to “100 times faster than what many people use now”.

The ambitious project will take up to eight years, cost $43 billion, create tens of thousands of jobs and will see fibre-optic cable laid out to individual houses.

The fibre-optic network, providing speeds of up to 100 megabits per second, will cover 90 per cent of Australians, while the rest will have access to a mix of wireless and satellite connections……..

telstra 唔做, optus 唔做就係last mile 既成本太高.

雖然australia 既network 真係好慢, 同其他國家比簡直係”嚴重缺乏競爭力”
呢43billion 係促進就業市場既政策多過改善IT infrastructure

嗯….. fibre-optic 邊只 100mb/s ?? 最少都1gb/s 掛…

Steps to disable Java Quick Starter:

1. Click Start.
2. Click Control Panel.
3. Double click on Java Control Panel.
4. Click Advance tab in Java Control Panel.
5. Scroll to Miscellaneous entry and Expand.
6. Uncheck the check box for Java Quick Starter.
7. Click Ok and restart the system.

呢個 evil 既 jqs.exe 只會影響 winxp /win2000 既users, 因為vista 已經有pre-loading mechanism
用java 做development 時完全唔覺得 load 個 eclipse 會快d …
但好多時屋企pc 唔係做野但不停 pre-fetch 做 I/O 同send data 出internet ,
仲要唔知點解同唔知send 去邊 (雖然我冇查清楚….)
總之就係佢 trigger wg111v2.exe (wireless usb 既 software) 而令到我誤會個software 寫得唔好, 有咁多I/O
